RUTH IS BY FAR THE OLDEST MEMBER OF THE CURRENT STAFF TEAM.
I arrived in Redditch in September 2015 as a probationer minister fresh from The Queen’s Foundation and was ordained in 2017. Life in ministry is good and is made even better with the love and support of my husband, James, and our grown up son Jack (who lives and works close by in Birmingham). Add to the mix our two dogs, Bonnie and Caspar, and our quirky retro T@b Caravan and that’s pretty much our family!
We love spending our days off out and about visiting National Trust properties and walking the dogs – we’ve discovered that Worcestershire is a beautiful county full of little gems.
I spent most of my working life as a Personal Assistant/Office Manager in a number of places, from a nightclub, to a design consultancy and then at Coventry Methodist Central Hall, and just before I went to college I worked in a busy solicitor’s firm. I loved that work, but nothing compares to ministry!
I have a passion for creative worship and prayer, and poetry and the Psalms. Essentially I am a pastoral theologian – especially when that involves, conversation, cake and coffee. I want to help people find God in the ordinary and everyday by building relationships and sharing what I know of Jesus and following ways of love, justice, and mercy.
