Reverend Stephen Levett

Superintendent minister
Associated Circuit Locations: Bromsgrove Crabbs Cross Studley
I was born in Wolverhampton in the West Midlands in 1966. Though being involved in a local Methodist church from childhood it was during my first year at the University of Sheffield, whilst studying for a degree in Accountancy and Financial management, that I made a firm commitment to follow Jesus. From early on I felt a sense that I would end up serving in the Christian Church somehow, in due time testing a call to ministry in the Methodist Church. Following acceptance and initial three year ministerial formation and training at Wesley College in Bristol and two years in my first appointment I was ordained in 1995. I have been privileged to minister in Atherton (Lancashire), Handforth and Wilmslow (Cheshire) and Gornal on the outskirts of Dudley (West Midlands),

Since 2010 I’ve been serving in Bromsgrove & Redditch. In September 2019 I became the Superintendent Minister with oversight responsibilities for the team and churches of the whole Circuit. Since September 2023 I have been working half time giving all my time to the role of Superintendency.

Interests include sport (to play: golf; to watch live: non-league football, cricket and motorcycle speedway; on TV: virtually anything!) and taking part in a local amateur dramatics company (especially pantomime). I have also quite recently got into running and vegetable growing. I am married to Louise and we have three not-quite grown up yet children and two dogs who they wanted more than me but whom I mainly get to take for walks.
